Planning Consultancy and Developer Contributions
At EPDS we have experience of representing both developers and local authorities in negotiations over the levels of contributions sought for education provision through s106 or other agreements.

We also have experience of liaising with planning and education authorities on behalf of developers in taking forward schemes for Local Plans, and are beginning similar work for the new Local Development Frameworks. EPDS also has consultants with experience of acting as expert witnesses both in the High Court and at Planning Appeals.

School Place Planning and Forecasting
With over ten years' experience in this field EPDS can offer an expert service to local authorities in the strategic planning of school places, reviews of catchment areas and surplus place removal schemes. These services would also be of use to any business looking to involve itself in the Building Schools for the Future programme through Local Education Partnerships.

EPDS also has extensive experience in forecasting pupil numbers, using a variety of models, for various local authorities. This experience enables us to offer a forecasting service for local authorities, and to also offer a service to both schools and developers critiquing existing local authority methodologies.

Asset Management and Capital Development
EPDS can offer services to schools and local authorities in the preparation of all documents relating to Asset Management Planning, and to help in the preparation of schemes for capital funding. EPDS is also able to offer schools assistance in the production of bids for capital funding, for example where Seed Challenge schemes are being continued by local authorities.

We also offer an advisory service to developers where, as part of any developer contribution, they have undertaken to build or remodel school buildings, to ensure that the work to be undertaken is appropriate.
